Mowing the Lawn

Mowing the Lawn

Proposal for an intervention/installation in a nondescript/anonymous desert landscape. A long and narrow cut in the earth descends eight feet below ground/grade before terminating at block wall. A boom truck crane is parked alongside the end of the descent/ramp, holding a steel plate suspended several inches above the desert floor. Viewers experience an alternate landscape and a new relationship to the horizon, one only several inches from the ground.
